Where are we Located?

Within Walking Distance

The main beach in Ballina is Shelly Beach. We are the nearest accommodation to this beach at just a 200m stroll away. Most of our apartments  have magnificent views, many of them looking directly over Shelly Beach.

Shelly Beach is a safe swimming beach patrolled throughout the summer with rock pools to explore for kids and adults alike. You can also enjoy Ballina’s scenic cycle ways and boardwalks.  Bike hire is available locally.

Shelly’s On The Beach

A five minute walk away, Shelly’s is a quaint beachfront café with great coffee and food. Stroll down for breakfast and enjoy the fresh ocean breeze and watch local wildlife including friendly birds and the occasional lizard; see dolphins playing in the waves and whales jumping out at sea!

Far North Coast

The Far North Coast of NSW is one of the world’s top holiday destinations. It’s stunning beauty, excellent fishing, surfing heritage, gorgeous beaches and lush rainforest attract visitors from all over the world. Swim with dolphins, learn how to surf, indulge in incredible food and wine, explore pristine hinterland and spectacular waterfalls and hike through ancient rainforest.

Tourist Drives

Ballina is an ideal location to jump up and down the coast and into the hinterland.

Visit the fishing village of Brunswick Heads where you can kayak along the river or have a drink and lunch the local’s favourite Brunswick Pub. Climb Mount Warning to see the first sunrise in Australia; take a trip to the alternative village of Nimbin; learn to surf, climb to the lighthouse and stand at the most easterly point in Australia in Byron Bay; swim in the tea tree lake at Lennox Head – there are so many things to do you’ll need more time!

COASTAL AND HINTERLAND VILLAGES

Lennox Head

Lennox Head is a seaside village and National Surfing Reserve situated on the stretch of coast between Byron Bay and Ballina. Bustling with restaurants and cafés; a local market also runs every second Sunday. Wander along 7 Mile beach, spend the day surfing the famous right-hand break, fish from the beach or swim in the famous tea tree lake, Lake Ainsworth.

Kite surfing, windsurfing and hang gliding are also very popular activities at Lennox Head.

Byron Bay

Byron Bay is a relaxed coastal town renowned for its surfie charm and laid-back character. There are a multitude of cafés, bars and restaurants to tempt the taste buds, and a number of boutique shops to peruse for that unique souvenir. Of course, there is the famous Main Beach and Cape Byron with its scenic walkways and lighthouse located on the easternmost tip of Australia!

Charming Settlements

Visit the charming hinterland villages of Bangalow, Mullumbimby, Rosebank, Newrybar, The Channon and Federal, with their antique shops, cafés, art galleries and boutique shops offering unique, local, handmade wares, all only a short drive from Grandview Apartments.

A drive into the hinterland is part of the journey. Keep an eye out for the roadside stalls where you’ll find some of the beautiful, fresh produce the area is known for.
