NATURE

Ballina Surf Beaches

The 32km of white beaches around Ballina are a beach-lover’s dream with sheltered coves, vast ocean beaches and some of the world’s finest surf breaks.

Grandview Ballina is within walking distance of Ballina’s most popular beaches, Shelly’s Beach and Lighthouse Beach.

National Parks

Ballina Coast is within easy reach of the many National Parks and Nature Reserves scattered throughout the Northern Rivers Region. A huge range of eco-adventures are available ranging from coastal surf beaches, dense rain-forests, mountain tracks and waterfalls. South Ballina Beach and Break Wall

Lose yourself in the expanse of South Ballina Beach and stroll for hours along the soft sand. For the angler the beach fishing is legendary, as is the surf. See dolphins at play offshore and see migrating humpback whales between June and October.

Ballina RSL Bowling Club

Offering a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy a game of bowls, a quiet drink or delicious meal with friends in air-conditioned comfort,  Ballina RSL Bowling Club offers a range of dining and bar options at the Boardwalk Cafe and Restaurant.

Sample some Australian Seafood cuisine at local restaurants where prawns are a specialty. You can’t miss the Big Prawn as you drive into Ballina from the south. Richmond River Cruises

Cruise Ballina’s majestic Richmond River with Richmond River Cruises, aboard the MV Richmond Princess. The Princess is available for groups, functions and special events. Take a two-hour Devonshire tea cruise, relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, complete with commentary!

Go Fishing

Whether you enjoy surf casting boat fishing or dropping a line off the river mouth and jetties there is always something to catch at Ballina. Enjoy the beautiful surrounds of the Richmond River estuary and catch Bream, Jewfish and a huge range of other local fish. Catch your own fresh seafood for dinner! There are also several local fishing boat charters and tours.

Ballina Naval & Maritime Museum

An intriguing local attraction dedicated to the preservation of the history of the Royal Australian Navy and the Maritime History of the North Coast of New South Wales, Australia.

Ballina Pool and Waterslide

Enjoy a refreshing swim in one of the two pools set in tropical surroundings overlooking the Richmond River. It’s safe, fully supervised and great family fun! Located at the eastern end of River Street the complex also has Giant Waterslides, a splash park for the younger kids, a cafe, undercover seating areas and BBQ facilities.

Summerland House

Summerland Farm is a macadamia and avocado farm set high on the hills of the Alstonville plateau overlooking the Ballina coastline. One of the most successful disability enterprises in Australia, and perhaps the world, and voted both Alstonville and Ballina’s ‘Best Tourist Attraction’. There is plenty to do here including mini-golf, cafe and restaurant, tractor rides, shop showcasing local produce and so much more.

Whale Watching

Whale watching on the Far North Coast gives you one of the best seats in the house. Whales are regularly spotted from our balconies and terraces and guests are often Wowed by the spectacle. To get up close and personal there are several local whale watching tours.

Crystal Castle

Visit the magical gardens of the Crystal Castle – walk the ancient labyrinth among mystical statues and soak in the peaceful energy. Books, gems, jewellery and more are sold in the gift shop, along with local produce and coffee at Lotus Café overlooking the grounds. Perfect as a venue for weddings, and an enchanting day out for the whole family.
